We created a chatbot using Python. Chatbots are everywhere today. Companies such as Whole Foods, Spotify, and Sephora use chatbots in their products. It was great to create a project that interacts with the user. Our chatbot even has a personality of its own!
Python is the first text-based language that we used. We thought it would be difficult, but Python is pretty similar to English. We had a great time learning about variables, loops, functions, conditionals, and functions in Python. We can't wait to learn more Python and create fun projects with computer science!
We created an info application in Thunkable inspired by Simone Giertz. Simone is a roboticist, inventor, and famous YouTuber. Her inventions include a popcorn helmet and The Wake-Up Machine. Simone is energetic and funny! She also advocates for creating products no matter how ridiculous the idea.
Creating an app in Thunkable was similar to Scratch, but it was super cool to see our applications on our phones!. Thunkable also has more features than Scratch. We used a camera component to take pictures. Thunkable is a fun language and we can't wait to create more mobile applications!
We created an adventure game using Scratch inspired by Ayanna Howard. Ayanna is a roboticist and Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Ayanna's proudest moments came at NASA working on the mars rover. She used artificial intelligence to program the robot exploring mars. Now, she researches new ways that robots can expand space exploration and assist people on Earth.
Developing this adventure game in Scratch required more steps than our previous Animation Project. We used a lot of conditionals and sprites to make our animation work! It was fun creating a story and seeing our end project. We hope that this project serves as an inspiration for the next roboticist in the world.
We created an animation in Scratch about Sonya Carey. Sonya has worked on well-known movies such as "The Princess and the Frog", "The Proud Family Movie" and "Winnie the Pooh". Sonya believes that animation is fun and creative. She also advocates for more women to enter animation and artistic technology fields.
Scratch was a fun language to learn! We got to learn about variables, loops, conditionals and functions. We especially enjoyed making the frog hop on the screen. We can't wait to make more Scratch Animations in the future.
